Valentine’s day showdown: Veronica vs Engadget

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007 - 6:16PM

It’s Valentine’s day, which can mean only one thing — a prize fight between my two loves, Veronica and Engadget. Who will win this 15 round battle?

Veronica Engadget
Lots of fun Yep! Yep!
Gets me new gadgets Not so much. Like, all the time.
Takes care of me when I’m ill Definitely. Nope.
Good dinner companion Yep! Not really.
Great conversation about BSG and Lost For sure Not really.
Hot date on a Friday night Yep! Unfortunately, so.
Knows me very well Absolutely. A little too well.
Good kisser ZOMG yes. Huh?
Sucks up all my free time You know it. Don’t even get me started.
Worthy opponent on Xbox Live Definitely. Upon occasion.
Met the parents Uh huh. Uh huh.
Pretty What a knockout! Ha!
Shiny Err… Damn straight.
Comes in RSS Oddly, yes. Indeed.
Needs constant attention Sure, so what? Such is life.

Wow, Veronica FTW! Final score: Veronica - 13, Engadget - 10. I hope she doesn’t make me dump Engadget. Care to see how I fared against World of Warcraft?

  3. This is pretty funny. But it looks rigged! Veronica ought to win this in a landslide. To paraphrase from a mid-90s movie, there are only four questions of value in life:
    1) What is sacred?
    2) Of what is the spirit made?
    3) What is worth living for?
    4) What is worth dying for?
The answer to each of these questions is the same: Love. Not “Engadget.” :-)

But what is “ZOMG”? Is it, “Zoiks, oh my god!”?

  6. “First Couple of Geekdom” comment seconded. When you start writing sonnets in Excel, I shall worry.
